French Haberdasher's Drawers

Original French Haberdasher's four drawer chest, made especially for the sale of Chadwick darning wool. Constructed of pine, with vintage typography images printed on the drawer fronts. Only one of the drawers has been compartmentalised (which can be removed) The other three drawers will easily take A3 paper. There is no back to the drawers as they were used on a shop counter top - so the rear is what the shopkeeper would have seen. Hence the handwritten colours written on the drawers in French.

We have included a photo of what the drawers looked like originally, when we bought them. They had been overpainted many times - covering the lovely typography. We carefully stripped it back to reveal the wonderful original graphics.
