Vintage Correspondance Box

This rare original example of a hotel correspondance box, has been cleaned and brass polished. Contains two interior storage shelf/tray for papers and envelopes pens, that can be removed. An internal lockable upper compartment with original key (Please note there is no main external key)

It also has it's original blue interior and and a wonderful brass plaque. Made originally in London, for the Hall Of Nations Hotel in Calcutta (also known as The Great Eastern Hotel) these boxes would have been in the dignitaries rooms, to safely store the paraphernalia for their correspondence.
