A really lovely example of an early 1900s steel lock box or deed box. Obviously at some point belonging to a Mrs Butter!!
When we bought it we couldn't see the 'Mrs Butter', as it was covered with old plain brown labels (not worth keeping) So it was anice surprise when we removed them and saw the wonderful handwritten name of Mrs Butter!
Really strong thick grade steel - with it's original key. It is rare to find them with their original keys these days. Original nice green paint on the inside. Brass handle.
